While Social media optimization has only become popular in the past few years as the use of social networking sites has exploded. When compared with successful SEO, social media traffic is less steady. I think both SEO and SMO are important to get role to get top 10 ranking of a website.

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization and is the process of generating traffic for a website. While SMO(Social Media Optimization) is the process of increasing popularity of a product or website.

Basically Both are quite useful techniques for increasing your site traffic!! If You want to enhance your website traffic you will have to focus on both of remedies!! For Search Engine SEO and For boosting website traffic then SMO!!
