do-follow and no-follow both good for link building. The only different, do follow pass PR juice it help to improve PR.

Its only about following the link by google bots from one page to other page. Means a dofollow link will make google robot to follow the link and index the page and nofollow link will restrict your page from being linked.

Do follow links are well crawled by the Google. It helps to increase page rank because Google considered it as a link.

No follow links are not crawled by the Google because Google considered it as a text.

When you link your site to a do-follow site the html link code will be a regular anchor text html link. In the case of a no-follow the no follow html tag will be added within the link and you would not get a link back to your site from this site.

When you link your website to do and follow the link HTML code to be a normal site anchor text link HTML. On a link will be added to follow up any HTML tags in the case, you will not get it from this site link to your website.

no follow do not create backlinks

In the case of a no-follow the no follow html tag will be added within the link and you would not get a link back to your site from this site.

This all about creating backlinks. If the sites have to ref: Nofollow then you will not have a backlink towards your site.

Do Follow and No Follow are the binary instructions that tells crawler to whether migrate or not to the associated web page. It is also helpful to prevent to pass link juice to another web page.
