Article and blogs both are useful link building techniques used in SEO. Both of these allow to get useful back links form them. I consider blogs better option because nowadays people prefer blogs over article to read about any topic and to get information. These are preferred because these are short and informative and are more attractive as well. These can be considered a better option as these are visited more and so the back links are more valuable.

Blogs and articles are both good for link building but i think the most important thing for both these activities is quality you always should keep in mind that your content should be fresh and unique for both blog and articles submission.

According to me article is better then blog in search engine optimization.
