Pictures, any SEO Value??
 

My site is top 3 in yahoo and bing for my main keyword, however, its like 30th on google. I don't know why google hates me but it does. Site is for backpacking water filters, so I was thinking about putting up a hiking photo gallary. Wordpress lets you put in the title and alternative title for each picture when you upload it into the post, would this help with ranking if i used those titles for keyword targeting??

Pictures are not so much useful for ranking as search engines are unable to read the images. The images can�t be recognized by search engines so that the value of using link on these images is not that much. The only way used by search engines to know what the image is about is to read the alt tag associated with the image. So if the keyword is used as alt tag it can be beneficial but not as much as text links.

There is huge difference between yahoo and google's values because yahoo give importance to on-page and google give importance to your backlinks therefore for google's ranking you have to concentrate on backlinks.

Label the images so the search engines know what they are :alt tags

I am agree with @harryjohn99 we can use alt tag with keyword it will boost your site optimization.

by giving file name and alt tag keyword makes a valuable to the keyword ranking in search engine.
