External Links

Hi masters,
What is the difference between internal links and external links and which one is important to improve our site rank ?

creativemedia 07-07-2012 10:26 AM

An internal link is when you link to any of your deep or other pages within your website other than your homepage. An external link is one when you link to other websites other than your own from your website.

Both are equally important and one should practice doing a combination of both.

The link given back to the other blog from your blog is known as external link and the link taken to your blog from other is known as internal link for you.

Internal link is a link to another document that may be on or part of the same website. For example, you have a blog site and you have many posts,if you link or connect one of your post to another post in the same blog, that is internal link.External on the other hand is when you link or connect outside your website.

Yeah you are right..... but external links can be harmful if these links are not high pr or low Page authority links....

Internal links is also called deep links, in which links are connected to each other within a website.

External links is when a link goes to another website.

An internal link is one that goes to other areas within your site.
An external link is one that goes to another URL outside of your site, or links from other sites to yours.

You have understood difference about both of them and now you need to know both are equally important for nay site. Internal link structure is must for any site and it is really a big on-page seo factor. And to increase your PR you must have external links.

xternal Links is a small module used to differentiate between internal and external links. Using jQuery, it will find all external links on a page and add an external icon indicating it will take you offsite or a mail icon for mailto: links.

Configuration options:

Apply icons to either mailto: or external links or both.
Configure external links to open in a new window.
A confirmation message when leaving the site.
Regular expression inclusion and exclusion of links considered external.

Links from own site to other sites are called external links, like if sell dubai property is a you want and you post your deep link of this to other website there swill be a external link for other site. :)
