Can Internal Link-building be the reason behind website penalty?
 

I'm giving hyperlink to several keywords referring to my homepage on my web site home page article.So I would like to know can google penalize my website due to this sort of internal link-building.Or is this reliable to make use of this strategy.

Note: I am implementing the key words as it is.

yes but not internal it would be some spam and duplicate content that penality by google.
