raster and vector..?
Hello Guys..
i just want to ask a question from all of you can you please tell me what is main difference between raster and vector. Please share your feedback . Thanks for any reply. |
Tables contain general and technical information about a number of raster-to-vector conversion software products .Raster and vector are the two basic data structures for storing and manipulating images and graphics data on a computer .

The major difference is that raster image pixels do not retain their appearance as size increases – when you blow a photograph up, it becomes blurry for this reason. Vector images do retain appearance regardless of size, since the mathematical formulas dictate how the image is rendered.

The main difference between raster and vector is that raster graphics are composed of pixels, while vector graphics are composed of paths. If you talk about a raster graphic, like a GIF or JPEG, it is an array of pixels of various colors, and combinedly they form a picture. Whereas in vector like .Eps file, it is meant to compose of paths, or lines, that are either straight or curved. As vector graphics are free from pixels, the images can be scaled to a large extent without losing quality. Where as in raster if you increase the image is the picture quality become worse and the picture looks blur

Vector image never get distressed even after you change the sizes, but raster image does. And this is the main differences.

Raster images are made of pixels. A pixel is a single point or the smallest single component in a display device. Let's think of them as little tiny squares* or dots of color or shade.
Vector images are mathematical calculations from one point to another that form geometrical shapes. |
