Google Medic Update is a term most probably coined by Search Engine Land and considered as a Google Search Algorithm update which deals with the health and medical websites.

But later Google confirmed that it is a major Google Core Algorithm update which impacted all websites globally.

Google's Core Search Update Had Big Impact On Health/Medical Sites. It is actually shocking to me since Google said this was a global and core update - which normally means it impacts all flavors of sites, in all areas, everywhere.
