It's no secret Google uses links to measure the authority of web pages. If a web page attracts links from other pages Google's algorithm, the software it uses to rank pages and decide which page is number one for a search result, increases the importance of a page. If a page secures lots of links, that is to say lots of other pages link to it, there's a great chance the page will be regarded as an authority. So far so good but sadly it's a little more complicated than this and this complication is the source of endless arguments in forums and lots of frustration for website owners. This article will help you understand link building and ensure you spend your time building links that matter and help your site to rank in the search results.
