To promote your website in google or other search engine, you need to search engine optimize our website with the search engine by submitting your website to google webmaster tools (for google search), bing webmaster tools (for bing and yahoo search) and then keep working on your website's content (make sure that your contents are relevant to your site category or concept, original and quality in the grammar wise), try to build as many dofollow backlinks possible (backlinks from the relevant, quality website/pages/blogs can give more benefit for your website in achieving a good page rank i.e. PR).
Once you achieve a good PR, then your website can be in the top of the search results (in the google) for the queries/keywords/phrases that you have targeted to rank high.
