As the name suggests, Primary keywords are the ones(mostly one or two) that are given the most importance while optimizing a web page.They appear on the most vital areas like the header � footer � inbound anchor text � H1 tags � Meta tags etc. The secondary keywords are the ones that are less important and supports the primary keywords for its marketing.

For instance, if you are dealing in Canon power shot digital camera 2MP, Digital camera is your primary keyword, while Canon power shot digital camera 2MP is secondary.

Tertiary keywords are a group of keywords or keyword-phrases (usually no more than 10) that are used after the secondary keyword or keyword phrase.
