Alexa rank is rank assigned to your website based on the number of Alexa visitor on your website. (Alexa visitors are those which have Alexa toolbar installed on their system).

Alexa can be faked easily. And even if it isn't faked, it's still inaccurate because Alexa only ranks sites based on who has the Alexa toolbar. it�s not worth spending any time.

Sometimes, you encounter that a website is getting good ranking in SERP but its alexa ranking is not so well (or maybe vice-versa).
