Give digitalocean.com a try, they are $5 a month for a 512MB memory VPS and have SSD disks. I can vouch a close friend uses their 1GB vps's for primary servers and I am running a 512MB right now and has been stable for a month.

I think they're offering a small credit for signing up ($2?) if you prepay $5.
