Claddagh jewellery has a very distinctive design featuring two hands clasping a heart. Usually, these hands are surmounted by a beautiful crown. The basic elements of this Claddagh symbol are often believed to correspond to certain qualities of love (the heart), loyalty (the crown) and friendship (the hands).
The manner in which you wear a great looking Claddagh ring or jewellery on your hand conveys your romantic availability or lack of it. In recent years, a lot of jewellers have started producing these rings because of their increasing popularity.
History of Claddagh Jewellery
The entire history of Claddagh ring is completely cloaked in legend. The most popular legend is about the great Richard Joyce who's kidnapped by the pirates in 17th century. When he returned to his home, he presented a Claddagh jewellery (ring) to his faithful fiancée. Since then, these rings have been a representation of eternal love.
