Hey! You are right. Showing in the first page of Google is very helpful for driving traffic on your site but it won't be helpful for getting high page rank. PR can only be attained by making your website informative. Even huge engagement of people on your website is also helpful to get good PR. Just like Facebook, Twitter and other popular sites you can also get high PR but for that you need to make your website attractive and informative as well so that people can get some quality info from it related to their search.
