Crawling is the process by which web crawlers look for pages of websites that can be indexed on search engines. It is a comprehensive process where webpages to be indexed are chosen based on the list of web addresses already present through previous crawl sessions as well as the sitemaps provided by the owners of different websites. The final list of web pages that can be indexed by the search engines are based on various parameters. The pages collected through crawling will then be added to the search engine's directory.
