Interesting. I try to concentrate on posting to relevant posts. I just responded to a post on another blog wondering if this a lot of work for not much reward. I say posting good content is more important Good content will get indexed. If your just trying to make money doing this will feel like work. If you do this because you enjoy it your not going to pay attention to where you post or comment and if it is a do-follow or no-follow link.
I have a yoast SEO plugin on my blog and use it to fully optimize each post before I publish it.
