What is a Meta Tag?
This is an HTML tag placed between the inner tag of an HTML document.
There are two types of meta tags that are common:
HTML
1. <META HTTP-EQUIV = "name" CONTENT = "content">
2. <META NAME = "name" CONTENT = "content">
In the early days when Meta tags were developed to support the overall development of the website. However, the application of it has changed a lot, many webmasters have used it excessively to use Meta tags for keywords (keywords) for websites with unhealthy content. Many unrelated keywords are placed on the website to help the website get good results in search results of the SE. For example, the website has adult content but places some keywords related to other hot issues or about popular celebrities that users often search for.
Now search engines have reduced the impact of Meta tags on displaying results. Google often ignores the influence of Meta tags and uses only Google Meta tags (which will be introduced below). Other search engines also have a way of reading this tag by its own.
