Yes if you know how a funnel works for example you can work of competitions funnels so say somebody has reached the first stage of the sales funnel : interest on a competitor. Understand users love to compare before purchase so they will move to the next website, not you don't have to peak their interest you can carry on on the next part of the funnel. You can slo do this with adwords. From the normal perspective of how sales funnels work, i think if your audience isnt too broad and your services not too varied working on a sales funnel is very beneficial for a website owner. However if your audience is too broad and services offered are also broad, it will be difficult as people behave differently.
