You need a mix of dofollow and nofollow links pointing to you. Google looks at ratio of incoming links. If all links that are pointing to your site dofollow, Google considers your site a spam.

it will show your all backlinks as spammy backlinks. For example, when you will make only do follow backlinks which will be bad practice only showing do follow links you have to show some no follow links
