Sub domains will not perform well in search ranking, buy a top level domain either dot com or dot net and build website on it, optimize with quality content and back links. The main draw back with sub main is, you lack control on it.

Dear Jack,
Your blog is running on sub-domain it can't be possible to do Search Engine Optimization for generating quality visitors.
You need buy a product or service specific domain and website hosting then go for search engine optimization.

Altough, it's a clean design, i think the header has to be more attractive.
Better info on the header, or better logo. The logo i think is poor.

When do you plan to get a domain to your site?
The content of your main page is too plain and boring, for me.
I suggest you make it more enticing and inviting.
It is too long.....

Your site seems very nice but one suggestion for you. YOu have put more content on home page try to create another relevant pages and put some home page content on those pages.
