Why is Google pushing https so hard?
They consider it to be best practices to encrypt interactions between your site and your site's users. This is the wave of the future

After deactivation of ssl I have lost a few ranking. That is why I believe that https has an positive impact in ranking.

Https is more secured than http. Https have the highest priority in google ranking.
