Making a comparison between them is useless because even if they are both social media websites, they are design for different purposes.

Twitter is more used by professionals while facebook is made for almost every type of people because of its features. The way you use them will vary on the quality of stuffs you share. Using both can be good. But what you share on facebook might not be effective or interesting in twitter. Different approach of posting or sharing must be implemented if you really want to benefit from the two.
