The theory goes something like this: The search engine Powers That Be have decided that if other sites are linking to your site, it must be a winner; therefore, it deserves a boost in rankings (when all else is equal). If you think about it, this makes a lot of sense. People link to good sites, not bad ones.

The term "link popularity" refers to the no. of inbound backlinks/backlinks does your website/page having. The more no. of backlinks your website have, the more reputation/popularity for your website.

Link popularity represents the total numbers of webpages, which are linked to the website. It is very important tool, which most of the search engine use to know the position of the site in search results.

What about the advice and guidance? Typical of much information on the internet there is both good and bad. Again, how does the beginner know the difference?

Link popularity is exactly the number of inbound links to a specific website or a web page. Usually, such links are referred to as back link by Search Engines.

Link popularity measures how popular your site is on the internet. The more sites link to you, the more popular your site is. Link popularity has become one of the important factors for search engines to rank your site.

In a link exchanging page a designated site provides you with a link. It is checked by the Google crawler as to the number of links in the exchanging page.

If you are getting those links from another site then you should be able to check its popularity with the use of special tools that could be sourced out from search engines.

With each page you publish you increase your chances that at least one more visitor will find your site and more importantly, if it's a good resource, it will more than pay for itself by getting backlinks from many different sites that will diversify your inbound links profile.
