I agree with you that you should concentrate on content in every activity related to your website because in present, After come Google new update Google Panda, Content is play most important role in improvement of your ranking and traffic. If you use unique and quality content, you will get good results like good ranking, high traffic.. etc. If you use low quality content like irrelevant, duplicate.. etc, you will get unexpected results like high drop in ranking, high drop in traffic, site ban, penalty.. etc. So you should use fresh and quality content in every activity related to your website for get good results.
