Hi,
selecting keywords and finding your competitors, and knowing their ranking keywords and writing articles on those keywords and finding the competitors backlinks and repeating those links on your blog is competitor analysis. For that, you need to use some tools like SEMrush, OpenSiteExplorer.

Competitor Analysis means check website of your competitior. In Competitior Analysis we check how title is made, how keywords use in title, description and also in content. Also check length of Title, desc. Most importamt thing is check Backlinks.
