Directing good links away from penalized domain

Hi,

I have a penalized domain, that has a some really good links point at it. Can I point these good links at another domain I have in the same niche or will this be a red flag with Google or does it not care about such things. If I add new content and add the new links, while removing the old links, will this be OK?
