grey hat is a seo technique which lies between white and black optimization.it is a shady approach to optimization which does not break any rules but bend them little.it includes buying links,duplicate content,high keyword density,buying links,reciprocal link exchange.

Grey hat seo is mixed of white hat seo and black hat seo. I can say that this is good seo techniques which don't break the search engines rules.

The term greyhat refers to the “questionable” category in search engine optimisation. While these actions may be against search engine guidelines or may not generally be considered an ethical way to SEO a website, it is not yet considered search engine spam.
