I really don't know how "likes" inrease page rank of your site. I read that you can have very good pagerank only with "likes" and without a single backlink.

"Likes" signifies that more number of people like your website but as far as Pagerank is concerned, It is based on the number of dofollow backlinks.

It is not a concluded factor that likes increase page ranks. But good quality back links will greatly help in getting ranked higher.

likes are not important as backlinks likes increase only popularity of website but to increase page rank of website you must have do follow backlinks.

Likes have no bearing on Page rank for a site and it is not in the formula for Page rank. Likes only tell other facebook users what you have like and a way to increase traffic or business to your site.
