What is the difference between google panda and google penguin ?

Hey,

Well Both are google's algorithms and made to stop spamming and give quality information to its users.

Google Panda: It takes care about website optimization like content, images, navigation, internal links etc.
Google Penguin: It takes care about your off page optimization like link reputation or link spamming etc.

Panda is basically an on-page problem, so the main changes need to be on the website. Check for pages with no or little content, as well as, for plagiarism. Creating elaborative pages with FAQs and more for a website should help.

Where as Penguine Check for the links to find if there are from the same domain name or IP address, so that links don’t look like purchased. The links should not just be direct links to the website, because websites that have followed such polices have seen dip in the rankings.

Google panda is a algorithm regarding to "quality of content" and Google penguin is a algorithm regarding "control on webspam". I think it sounds more clearly then any other explanations here,as well as you get all updates regarding these terms online too.

Google Panda was known as Farmer Update whereas Google Penguin is known as Over Optimization Penalty. The main purpose of Google Panda is to check the quality of content whereas Google Penguin is to control on web spam.
