What is UGC?

User generated content is all the rage today (its content that your users actually add to your own site like a testimonials or rating). Very important for ranking.

User-generated content (UGC) is published information that an unpaid contributor has provided to a web site.

User-generated content (UGC) is defined as "any form of content such as blogs, wikis, discussion forums, posts, chats, tweets, podcasts, digital images, video, audio files, advertisements and other forms of media that was created by users of an online system or service, often made available via social media websites". UGC is use for chats , tweets, video sharing, comments, blogs and other form of online services and made via social media.

The University Grants Commission of India is a statutory body set up by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India in accordance to the UGC Act 1956 and is charged with coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of higher education.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) provides financial assistance to eligible colleges which are included under Section 2(f)* and declared fit to receive central assistance (UGC grant) under Section 12 (B)** of UGC Act, 1956 as per approved pattern of assistance under various schemes.
