There are two types of sitemap.

An HTML sitemap is used to help visitors to your site navigate easily.

An xml sitemap is used to facilitate the crawling of your site by search engine bots.

You don't necessarily need either, especially if your site is small with straightforward navigation.

XML Sitemap gives guidelines to search engines which webpages are need to crawl/index in a website.

HTML sitemap helps to users what are the pages available and navigate in the website easily.

Sitemaps are important for SEO because they make it easier for Google to find your site's pages, this is important because Google ranks web PAGES not just websites. There is no downside of having a Sitemap and having one can improve your SEO, so we highly recommend them.

Sitemaps is file where we put all urls so that crawler can easily crawl them. There are two types of sitemap : 1. sitemap.xml or 2. sitemap.html

Sitemap.xml is used for crawlers and Sitemap.html is used for visitors.

Your need to start with research for example if you manufacture all work you.before you begin any SEO work he words that are used in your navigation, sidebar, footer and any text that is present .

Site Map is important for the all website. It gives overview of all pages, category and tags. Through the site map search engine will read our site in proper way. It works like blueprint of content, url, picture, videos and other types web material.

If you use WP, the Yoast SEO plugin has a really good xml generator. That's what I use.
