An option for dealing with duplicate content is to utilize the rel=canonical tag. The rel=canonical tag passes the same amount of link juice (ranking power) as a 301 redirect, and often takes much less development time to implement. The tag is part of the HTML head of a web page.

Duplicate content is the content that appears on the internet in more than one place when there is multiple pieces of identical content on the internet. It is difficult for search engines to decide which version is more relevant to given search query.

You can use plagiarism checker tool find out the duplicate content in your webpage. if found any duplicate content means replace and rewrite that content and use..

301 redirects are the easiest way to fix duplicate content issues on your site. So if you found a bunch of duplicate content pages on your site, redirect them back to the original. Once Googlebot stops by, it will process the redirect and ONLY index the original content.

1. Redirecting duplicate content to the canonical URL.
2. Adding a canonical link element to the duplicate page.
3. Adding an HTML link from the duplicate page to the canonical page.

There are lots of tools for checking duplicate content use siteliner.com its a free tool to check duplicate content on the website.
