I can imagine, also a very nice happy ending that you finally were getting your Passports back. Similar things happened to a friend of mine in Brazil, Brazil is a nice country but as everywhere it is not without danger. Good to be born in a state where the authorities function.

Pretty hard to get and once lost it is even harder.
