you should use ahrefs.com tool to view site backlinks. I think this is very effective tools to check backlinks.

Backlinkwatch and ahrefs are two of the good tools out there. But if you want to maximize their usage, you can purchase a premium subscription to view complete backlinks with URLs.

Backlinkwatch shows just a small fraction of links. ahrefs is a paid tool and very expensive for what they offer.
I'd better suggest to use WebMeUp's backlink tool at webmeup.com/backlinks/ to get all links at no cost. |

If this is your own website then you can use through Google Webmaster Tools.
If its your client or others website then you can use ahrefs and backlink watch.
