Broken links are caused when you click on link that is linked to another page, but the other page has moved, making the link obsolete. It doesn't happen as a result of your computer not doing it right, it is the websites problem.

Broken links are the links which are no longer working i.e dead links are known as broken links.When you click on the broken links, it will show 404 not found error.
