Refferel Traffic means back the link from the other website such as social bookmarking website, Directory submission site, Facebook etc.....
This is definitely helpful for Keyword ranking. |

Referral traffic is good when it is coming from well reputated site. If it is coming from addmefast.com and youlike hits.com websites then it may affect your google ranking or may be terminated for Google Indexing...

Referral traffic is just reverse to direct traffic.Referral traffic is Google's method of reporting visits that came to your site from sources outside of its search engine. When someone clicks on a hyperlink to go to a new page on a different website, Analytics tracks the click as a referral visit to the second site.
