When should you force an elderly relative into a nursing home?

When should you force an elderly relative into a nursing home? My grandma has dementia and doesn't want any help but she's increasingly becoming unsafe. She has made it clear she doesn't want to move into a nursing home.

You really cannot “force” someone into a long term care facility. Someone has to sign the paperwork making them financially responsible for care. If they refuse to sign then the facility isn’t going to admit them as they would have no pay source.

I see your point, thanx a lot for your reply. Still, I got some recommendations on my problem. I understand that if grandma is incurable I will need to look for some home care agencies near me. It is good that there are a number of institutions that are engaged in the care of seriously ill people because their relatives are hard to bear physically and mentally. It''s quite noble, I think.
