The factors needed to reduce the bounce rate for the website primarly include:
1. Website navigation and speed as per user friendliness.
2. Good quality content on the website.

If you have google analytics, there is a data there where you can find the users data flow. It will show you where your site visitors most likely to exit. You can start analyzing from there, and maybe improve that page where people tend to leave. There might some errors that you needed to fix, or changes needed to update.

The LANDING PAGE is the answer to your question on top of other suggested measures. Currently there are a lot of "landing pages" created specifically to lower bounce rate; some are even called "no bounce". Generally, the landing page which could be the index page give visitors fewer options but to click and go "in".

Make your website mobile friendly to load faster. Also make sure that your contents appear first instead of ads when visitors will visit on your website. Your landing page must be attractive so that the visitor will think to explore your site.
