I am always having problems with keyword research. So, please share some best practices for such.

First choose keyword related to your site content then use keyword research tool and take those keywords which are having less competition and high search.

There are lots of keywords search tool you can use them according to me: Google adwords and keyword discovery is the best tool for keyword research...

Google Keyword Tool is the best for this sort of thing, that and free serp rank checkers.
