Canonical issue is HTTP error which is solved with help rel="url". It is used not for duplication.

Canonical issue is of duplicate pages, if by chance your site pages have same content and different urls but you can't redirect it so their using canonical tag. Canonical tag using in head section on your site.

canonical issue means there is an issue of duplicate content on the site. Check your website pages for duplicate content & resolve it using canonical tag.
