What's the difference between organic vs. paid results?

Organic search results are the Web page listings that most closely match the user’s search query based on relevance. Also called “natural” search results, ranking high in the organic results is what SEO is all about.

Paid results are basically advertisements — the Web site owners have paid to have their Web pages display for certain keywords, so these listings show up when someone runs a search query containing those keywords.

Traffic that comes from search queries on the serp are organic traffic, and all the traffic that comes by search engine marketing in which you post add on google to get traffic are paid results.

Organic search results are those which come from the algorithm used by the search engine; paid results are just that – links that come from advertising dollars being spent to place them on the results page.

Paid results may be annotated with “sponsored content” or set apart with a shaded box, or even placed into an area of their own, such as a sidebar.

Organic results comes through SEO, search engine while paid results comes through paid ads such as Google Adsense, PPC etc.
