301 redirect is a permanent redirect from one URL to the other.

It is a permanent redirection.
Like for example you have a new site and you want to redirect your users from the old site to the new site, you'll need to create a 301 page to tell your visitors that your site has been permanently moved to another/new site.

You can change your url from OLD to New, 301 redirection helps. It's a permanent redirection. Google consider this redirection.
