When a user enters your website through a particular page, that page is termed as "Landing Page".

Landing Page is a webpage which serve as the entry point for a website or a particular section of a website. It is webpage where visitors arrive or land. In other words we can say that a landing page is a single webpage that appears in response to clicking on a search engine optimized search result. There are two types of Landing page:

A landing page refers to any Web page that a user arrives at after clicking a hyperlink. The definition of landing page has changed from being synonymous with a website’s home page to referring to any page within a website that is linked to from another location on the Web. A landing page is usually a stable URL that is indexed by search engines

an active Web page where Internet users will “land when they click your online ad. Your landing page doesn”t need to be your home page. In fact, ROI usually improves if your landing page directly relates to your ad and immediately presents a conversion opportunity whether that means signing up for a newsletter, downloading a software demo, or buying a product.

A landing page is a website page that allows you to capture a visitor's information through a lead form. A good landing page will be targeted to a particular stream of traffic - say from an email campaign advertising a particular whitepaper - and, because it is targeted, and because it has an interesting offer behind a lead capture form, you will convert a higher percentage of your website visitors into leads with which you can follow up.
