How Google knows if is there any mobile version of a existing website?

Hello friends, i am confused that how Google knows that the website is mobile portable or not, is Google automatically detects it or we have to do it manually?

Generally, a browser will have what's called a User Agent which will tell the web site what browser is currently accessing the site. These user agents will generally tell the website whether they are a mobile device or not.
