How is search engine marketing different from PPC?
PPC stands for 'Pay-Per-Click', and refers to a type of online advertising. SEM stands for 'Search Engine Marketing', and is the blanket term used for any kind of activity intended to improve how easy it is to find a particular website via a search engine.
There are two key differences when considering SEO or PPC. The first is that paid ads appear at the top of the page, above the organic listings influenced by SEO. The second is that traffic from organic via SEO is free, whereas traffic from PPC has a cost for each click.
