EMD means Exact Match Domains.
Recently, Google released the EMD algo change which targeted low quality EMD sites. These are sites that are EMD but do not contain any relevant/helpful information on the keyword the keyword they're ranking for using their domain name. Before, EMDs can rank for their target keywords merely for having the exact target keywords on their domain name.
