keyword is one of most important part of SEO, if you are in initial stage then you should choose mix traffic keyword (high, medium and low). you should optimize your keyword in on-page SEO element.

I agree with you keywords are most important part of the seo. It such a best way to increase the traffic and ranking for the website. If you want to start linkbuilding on the any site than keywords are most important for that.
