The site needs proper SEO. The recent Google update has obviously brought down Page Ranks of many websites. You could start by disavowing all your bad quality links. Anything that seems spammy or manipulative, doesn't work in your favor. Build some high quality backlinks from some high PR sites that offer content that is relevant to your site content.
