Simply search on Google On page optimization technique, you will find many and set your site according to that.

Firstly for a new website, do
onpage which includes: Meta tags creation: Meta-tag:keyword, Meta Description, Title Tag. alt tags, h1 tags. Then you need to off page which includes: Bookmarking Submissions Forum Posting Blogs Creation Directoey Submission Article Submissions and there are many more techniques. Best of Luck
